About

The 200 MW Solar / 20 MW Storage Rosalen Solar and Storage Project located in New York is proposed to become operational in 2029. EDF Renewables is handling the development of this project.

New York is leading the nation, with a goal of using 70% renewables by 2030, and EDF Renewables is leading the solar energy charge starting with the Rosalen Solar Project.  A growing solution to energy demands, solar power is a safe, clean technology that NY residents and businesses want now. The initiatives outlined in the State Energy Plan can be found here.

The Rosalen Solar Project is a proposed up to 200 MW solar photovoltaic facility located in the Towns of Rose and Galen, Wayne County, New York. The Project will safely generate enough clean, renewable electricity to power 51,000 New York households. It will interconnect to the New York power grid via a new Point of Interconnection (POI) in the Town of Rose, tapping into the 345 kilovolt (“kV”) Clay to Pannell circuit bisecting the Project. The Project will be sited on approximately 2,000 acres of leased private and mostly cleared land and will consist of about one million solar panels.
